For the first time this season, the Cape Breton Highlanders won back to back games. In front of an enthusiastic crowd at Centre 200, the Highlanders defeated the visiting Windsor Express 103-100.
Cape Breton showed determination and intensity from the opening tip off. Strong shooting and tough rebounding on both ends of the court allowed the Highlanders to take a 9 point lead into the second quarter and an impressive 55-46 lead into half time. Physical play continued in the second half and Windsor fought back to tie the game 97 with less than 2 minutes left in a tightly contested game. However, the Highlanders took control again late and left with the 3 point victory.
The Cape Breton Highlanders Franchise is one of 10 professional basketball teams in the National Basketball League of Canada. The Highlanders’ ownership group is comprised of successful business and community leaders in Cape Breton and led by President and General Manager Tyrone Levingston.
