Isolation is a significant issue facing family caregivers and their loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. The unpredictable nature of the disease is one of the biggest deterrents to going out in public. We at Home Instead Senior Care are committed to building an Alzheimer's friendly community. We developed the "Alzheimer's Friendly Business" program to educate business owners, managers and their staff so that they have the tools to welcome family caregivers who may otherwise be reluctant to take their loved ones into public places. The free training can be completed in person or online. Once the business completes the training, they will be designated an Alzheimer's Friendly Business for a two year period. The business will also receive a window decal signifying that they are an Alzheimer's Friendly business.
