The Cape Breton Highlanders professional basketball team announced the upcoming return of Jamal Reynolds (#9).
Reynolds, a 6’4” guard from Toronto, Ontario played for the Highlanders in Season 2 and has signed on to return. Reynolds appeared in 37 of 40 games, averaging 17 minutes per game off the bench. He averaged 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist per game and was selected to the NBLC All Rookie Team.
Tyrone Levingston, President & GM, said, “Jamal's hard work and high-energy play consistently provided a boost to our team when we needed it. It’s great to have him return for another season and continue his professional career in Cape Breton.”
The 24-year-old Reynolds previously played at Canisius College and was a member of the Canadian Jr. National Team.
Season 3 for the Highlanders starts in November and the schedule will be released soon.
Signed players compete for a final spot on the team roster during the Highlanders training camp in October. NBL teams are allowed to have a roster of up to 12 active players and up to 3 inactive players. Players may be deemed inactive if they are injured, held in reserve, or needed for roster adjustments. This provides teams with the flexibility to adjust their rosters for planned or unforeseen events.
