Joe Ward Calls Out Mike Kelloway & Anna Manley at C200 Debate

WHERE DO I VOTE? CLICK HERE.

At the April 8th debate, Joe Ward called out Mike Kelloway and Anna Manley for failing to respond to the Nova Scotians for Equalization Fairness. Although they both dodged the question, they made their reason for not supporting more equalization resources for Sydney Glace Bay and the CBRM very CLEAR. To summarize:

Mike Kelloway: Says they invest other federal money.

Anna Manley: Says we can't tell the province what to do, but Tim Houston is doing a great job with healthcare.

Joe had 9,371 votes for him in the mayor election and needs approximately 1,000 more votes in this election to defeat Kelloway and Manley. Let's get it right this time!

We have party MP's but but can not take individual stands on issues due to party discipline. Thus an independent is often a good thing. Environment and Climate Change a federal department recently fixed the road to the Big Glace Bay Beach. The contractor made a mess of it leaving the entryway undone and installed a gate to the public beach that raises serious questions about a 911 emergency. The section of the road upgraded has no safe turning point and already someone towed out of the unprotected edge. People with disabilities are virtually blocked from this beach, famous worldwide. I have sent photos and videos to Mike Kelloway and no response. I was told in an email from his office campaigning for re-election. Your laughter is appropriate here! Local issues get very low priority methinks Time to think.

We need local voices. The party candidates are not only too constrained—they are too willing to be constrained. :( Folks through "common sense" around so often. I'd like to see more of it in projects like Big Glace Bay beach. The changes need to make sense. Contractors need to be accountable. The tendency is to suggest they've done something, so they can close the file and move along. Ugh.
