Living Mannequins @ the Baddeck Library
The "Living Mannequins" Cape Breton Regional Library fundraiser event is coming back to Baddeck! On Sunday, May 3, literature is coming to life at the Baddeck Library. Join us for a guided tour of the Library as timeless characters in full costume come to life with readings and re-enactments from classic books and films. There will be three tours at 1 pm, 4 pm, and 7 pm. Tickets are $35 and include "mock"tails and 12 mini courses of hors d'oeuvres. Each course will be paired with a book interpreted by a costumed "mannequin", who will give a reading, a storytelling, or a performance. Staged twice before, this Living Mannequins event will feature all new books and food.
As you walk through the Library, being introduced to a variety of characters, you will be treated to delicious hors d'ouevres inspired by literature. The food will be prepared by George Smith of the Telegraph House in Baddeck, and Bryan Picard of the Bite House in Baddeck. Each chef will bring their unique talents to pairing great food with great books.
Proceeds from this event will go towards the services of the Cape Breton Regional Library. For more information or to reserve tickets, phone the Baddeck Library at 902-295-2055.
