The future of Cape Breton is in the hands of our next generation of business people, entrepreneurs, artists and others who will use their creativity and ingenuity to make magic and create opportunities where others see nothing. Wayne Miller, owner and operator of Downtown Nutrition is one of these magicians. Through vision, hard work and dedication to his community, Miller has laid the foundations for a long-term success story. “It’s all about faith,” Miller says. “Faith in yourself, faith in your product, and most importantly, faith in you community.” Miller has taken that optimism and turned into 15 employees, new diverse products and a projected growth that will see those numbers grow. “The sky is the limit. I have lived, worked all over, and could have made this happen in bigger cities. And if I had have listened to the negative people I never would have made it happen.” Thankfully, Miller chose home to make his dreams a reality. He is an inspiration for all the young creative kids in schools around Cape Breton asking themselves how to make a living here at home in Cape Breton. Because of people like him, our future is bright.
