The Cape Breton-Victoria Child Advocacy Society is hosting a public event on October 27th, 2017, at the Horizon Achievement Centre to bring awareness to the need for a standalone, independent Child Advocate for the Province of Nova Scotia. Our keynote speaker will be Marvin M. Bernstein, B.A., J.D., L.L.M., Chief Policy Advisor for UNICEF, Advocate for Children's Human Rights. The time for the event is: Registration 11:00- 11;30am, followed by the lunch and speaker. Wrap up should be at 2pm. We are a small non-profit group with all of 5 Board Members and we are not receiving any government financial assistance. We have fundraised the necessary dollars to put this important event on to hopefully improve the situation of Children in our Province.
