2018 ECMA Nominee Mary Beth Carty performs from 4pm - 7pm at the tasting room of Breton Brewing Co.
The Underground Press notes of a Mary Beth's live show, "right from the opening salvos of her sound test, the toes were tapping and heads were bobbing, and this continued ‘til the close of her third set." Known for her passionate, memorable voice, Antigonish Nova Scotia’s Mary Beth Carty was nominated Traditional Singer of the Year at the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Awards. Mary Beth has performed throughout Canada, as well as in Congo, Rwanda, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and along the Eastern Seaboard on both Norwegian and Holland America lines.
“The young singer songwriter went through her two sets of mostly original songs, but interspersed these with several Polkas and amazing covers, all the while giving in-depth and often humorous background to her catalogue.” – Underground Press
“She’s a hot-shot accordion player and a touring machine.” – Halifax is Burning, CKDU
“Quirky, charming, and expressive to the point that it’s easy to forget that Carty is singing in French for most of the album, with the accordion easily taking centre stage as its first language.” – THE EAST
