Meat Cove, the most northern tip of Cape Breton Island, is surrounded by jagged cliffs, valleys of connected mountains where bald eagles soar above. Here, you will find yourself surrounded by magnificent views from all of our 30 unserviced campsites that come supplied with a picnic table, fire pit, and grill.

Rugged Camping At It's Best !!

If you are looking for a bit of rugged outdoor camping at the Northern tip of Cape Breton then come to Meat Cove Campground located about a half hour or so just north from Ingonish. 

Meat Cove Campground is located on the northern tip of Cape Breton Island and is surrounded by majestic mountain scenery, walking trials, and beautiful ocean sunsets. If you are looking for the rough outdoors rugged camping experience in Cape Breton, set your coordinates for Meat Cove! There are over 30 un-serviced campsites and a few wilderness cabins that you can stay in.

The Chowderhut Restaurant keeps campers fed each day during the camping season services up burgers and fries, mussels, lobster sandwiches and mouth watering clams.

Each campsite comes supplied with a fire pit, picnic table, BBQ grill and as always, a hot shower is not far away. There is a new shower house with laundry facilities, flush toilets, and access to fresh drinking water right in the campground.

Whether you love to camp in a tent, camper, RV, or a cabin, Cape Breton has something to offer for everyone! From rugged landscapes to seaside camping, Cape Breton is a home away from home for many people looking to explore Canada. Meat Cove Campground is not to be overlooked as far as a great place to explore our great outdoors in Cape Breton!

Set up you tent, gather up some firewood, grab a bowl of seafood chowder at the Chowderhut Restaurant, and settle in for the evening with a roaring fire watching the most amazing sunsets you have every witnessed!

Campsites: $35/Night (First come first serve)
Cabins: $80/Night (Reservations available June 1st)

Drop in for a bowl of seafood chowder, mussels, lobster, or one of the many other tasty dishes served up hot at our very own "Chowder Hut Restaurant", then wash is down with a cold beer on our licensed deck!
