MP Battiste agrees to recorded meeting with Fr. Maroun & NSEF

The following letter was sent today to MP Jaime Battiste based on a conversation (recorded) with Father Maroun and Mr. Battiste at Premier Rankin's announcement at the Des Barres Park in Sydney, last weekend. Mr. Battiste agreed to meet with the NSEF and also agreed to do that on camera , as we requested. We thank Mr. Battiste in advance for his time and to allow more transparency on this important issue that faces Cape Breton and rural Nova Scotia. Here is the letter sent today to Mr. Battiste: Dear MP Jaime Battiste. First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to have a meaningful discussion with me during the announcement at Des Barres Park in Sydney last weekend. It did mean a lot to me that you did not run away, like MP Mike Kelloway did, and instead you remained by my side and had a productive conversation and I appreciate that effort. During our conversation, you agreed to meet with a few board members of the NSEF and you also agreed to do that on camera, as we requested. I thank you for allowing our organization to operate within our guidelines. We have had many meetings with politicians over the past number of decades who refused to acknowledge the meeting took place once they were elected to power. The purpose of this email is to confirm a date and time you would be available to have this meeting. Our members will remain respectful and are humbled that you will meet on camera on such an important issue. Please confirm by email, a proposed time that you would be able to meet, and we look forward to your response. Regards, Rev. Dr. Albert Maroun PhD & The Nova Scotians for Equalization Fairness

Mr. Battiste takes his job seriously. I believe he will act for us and work not only for CBRM's due but for all the Nova Scotian municipalities, except Halifax of course who gets most of it. He might organize a study of what has been going on in all the other municipalities for far too long with several of them having to close. This would support the argument in our favour, And there is an absoluely excellent research that has been made by Father Maroun's group for decades. All the figures are there, The work is half done, but we lack the "Political power". Let's see what MP Batttiste can do for us.
