Whitney Pier native MP Lisa Raitt engaged in a Twitter clash with former Prime Minister of Canada Kim Campbell.
Raitt took offence after noticing that Campbell shared a Twitter post from Canadian women's rights advocate,
Julie S. Lalonde.
The tweet from Lalonde suggested that MP Raitt was "full of ****", in response to a media interview she had with CTV.
During the CTV interview, Raitt shared her views on issues related to Canadian border security.
On Twitter, Raitt claimed that Campbell's decision to retweet Lalonde's statement put her in conflict with her obligations in the role as "Chair of the Advisory Committee for choosing Supreme Court Justices". She also said she would discuss the matter with the Minister of Justice.
Campbell responded suggesting that Raitt was using "manipulation" to imply that Campbell herself was responsible for the "full of ****" comment. Both Raitt and Campbell continued with several tweets that largely focused on whether Campbell's Twitter activity was "partisan" and incompatible with her role on the advisory committee or not.
Looking forward to asking Min of Justice on his thoughts on his Chair of the Advisory Committee for choosing Supreme Court Justices saying the Opposition MP with responsibilities for Justice is “full of sh-t”. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/Wpj9Fr7dGr
