New Brand for Downtown Sydney

Sydney, NS - Sydney Downtown Development Association (SDDA) is taking a dynamic new approach, re-branding and taking its marketing to a new level to attract people to Downtown Sydney. A recent wave of new retailers confirms the strength of the downtown as an important shopping, dining and entertainment destination. The new brand, which includes a new name – the Sydney Waterfront District – will be appearing on print publications, banners, signage, social media, and other places promoting the downtown.

“Downtown Sydney is evolving into a modern and creative destination, attracting local audiences and appealing to visitors as well,” says Janelle Osborne, President of SDDA. “We are excited to launch a new brand identity and name that reflects this evolution, differentiating the downtown core from other regions within the CBRM.”

Vibe Creative Group was engaged to develop the brand and new name, “Sydney Waterfront District.” Neil Gascoyne, Creative Director of Vibe, says “It is human nature to want to be close to the water – this is what makes the downtown so special to so many people.” He continues, “The downtown is becoming a hub for new eateries, boutique shops and cultural activities and the brand reflects this reality.”

At 22 years of age, Brittany Woodworth made the decision to purchase a retail business Downtown. It is through hard work, and determination to continually evolve to suit the needs of the customer, that keeps her business relevant. And having her business located downtown is part of her success. Along with Brittany and all of our hard-working merchants, the Sydney Waterfront District would like to invite you to come and re-discover the heart of Sydney.

A bit puzzled ( nothing new in that of course ) . Well, like the colours , but without the words , not sure that big "S" means anything . Take way the "S" and then what do the colours and shapes mean ?? If it had "NS" would that then mean North Sydney or Nova Scotia??
