When 12 teammates of the Bec Bears slipped and fell during their Coal Bowl entrance, the video first went viral here in Cape Breton. It was later featured on America's Funniest Home Videos.

It gained further momentum from there. Comedian Joel McHale featured the video on his show. Recently when he appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the clip of the New Waterford team was again shown as a showcase clip.
