Nova Scotia Basketball Pro Chris Johnson to Play With Highlanders

The Cape Breton Highlanders professional basketball team are adding another scoring threat to the roster with the signing of 30-year-old Chris Johnson, a 6’5” Forward from North Preston, NS.

Johnson was a member of the PE Island Storm this past season, where he averaged 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists as a starter, playing an average of 34 minutes per game. He shot a blistering 43% from the 3-point line, good enough for 4th place in league shooting percentage.

Johnson has played professionally in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Portugal.  He played NCAA Division I basketball in New York at St. Bonaventure University, where he averaged 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists as a starter.

The Highlanders Season 3 starts in November and Season Tickets are now on sale.

Signed players compete for a final spot on the team roster during the Highlanders training camp in October. NBL teams are allowed to have a roster of up to 12 active players and up to 3 inactive players. Players may be deemed inactive if they are injured, held in reserve, or needed for roster adjustments. This provides teams with the flexibility to adjust their rosters for planned or unforeseen events.
