One of the biggest weather stories of the past year was the giant ice wall that built up on the shores of Irish Vale this past winter. The 20 foot wall received lots of press coverage and drew crowds of people who came to gawk, take pictures, and climb all over its broad expanse.  

There were stories about climbers dropping smartphones, which then disappeared down into the cracks between the giant blocks. Since it was not safe to retrieve them, a number were not recovered.

Perhaps Irish Vale will become a preferred summer destination for beach-combers with metal detectors?
