Tracking descendant from Duncan MacLennan, Pioneer to River Denys

I, Vicki Wilson, from B.C. am 7th generation to Duncan MacLennan who immigrated in 1821 and set aside 2-200 acre parcels for his sons in River Denys. He was buried in Margaret Taylor Cemetery in 1828.

We are travelling across Canada and will be in Cape Breton in June 2022. I read William Arthur "Billy" Matthews purchased one of the parcels who died Nov 21/2007. Any ideas on where to locate the Cemetery or parcel would be appreciated.

If there are any registries I could go to for immigrants & locations of tombstones.

Thank-you Vicki Wilson [email protected]

I just saw your enquiry re Margaret Taylor Cemetery in River Denys, Nova Scotia (from over a year ago) so being originally from the general area I did a quick search and I found a link to exactly what you are looking for Cemeteries in River Denys, Nova Scotia - Find a Grave I suggest you copy and past the above link into your browser and it should open a page and if you scroll down you will find the link to a site with that exact name. Open it and you will find links to several Cemeteries in River Denys the one at the bottom will be the one you are looking for. Click on it and a new window will open where you can enter a name and press search from there you will find the person you are searching for along with what I suspect are other family members. Unfortunately it does not give the exact location for the Cemetery but you may be able to make a contact through one of the other cemeteries in the area to find the exact location. I have a friend who lives near Whycocomagh and may be able to help with the possible location so I will send and enquiry and let you know what I find. Good Luck Rannie MacDonald - Ottawa
