As the CBRM continues with hurricane recovery, there are many travel hazards, such as downed trees and power lines, still in place. Any travel should be limited to absolute necessity – for example to work, access comfort centres, attend medical appointments, or re-stock necessary supplies. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution for any required travel.

• Please stay alert and mindful of your surroundings, expect delays and be patient.
• If you are waiting in line to access supplies and services, please pull over to the far right of the roadway and as tight to the curb as possible, to allow continued traffic flow and open access for emergency vehicles.
• Ensure your vehicle does not block an intersection or driveway.
• Try and access service locations in non-peak travel hours when there is less traffic on the roads, and verify that the location you are traveling to is in fact open and operational before you leave and/or enter a lineup.
• A vehicle driver must remain present while waiting in line to access supplies and services; leaving a vehicle parked and unattended with the potential to obstruct traffic is an offence and the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Any extra unnecessary traffic adds even more congestion to already compromised areas where crews need space for clean up and repair. We appreciate your cooperation to stay off the roads as much as possible until crews can clean up for safer driving conditions.
