Here's a list of public ice skating locations and times for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The info is from the Winter Citizen's Handbook. Be sure to verify skating times before you go, as they may be subject to change.

The Open Hearth Park in Sydney also has an outdoor arena (100 feet x 60 feet) that is open daily from 9am to 9pm, running into mid-February.

Note: Some facilities may require helmets while skating. There are some helmets available for borrowing by skaters at the Membertou Sports & Wellness Centre.
