The Simon Chiasson Alumni Basketball Tournament (“The Simon”) is one of the largest ALMUNI basketball tournaments in Canada. The Simon runs from March 16 - 19, 2017 with up to 18 men’s and women’s teams and 200 players competing in three venues in Cape Breton. Find out more at TheSimonTourney.com

| Simon was 4 yrs older than me and he would come home at Christmas time and March break and summertime and we had keys to the gym so we would play 1on1 all the time. We must have played thousands games. |
| Has basketball/sports helped you in your life? |
| I don’t think I’d be the person I am without basketball and sports. I wouldn’t have gotten through university, I can tell you that much. I went to university to continue to play sports. I played soccer and basketball at the university level, and I also played senior baseball too. I met so many people and made so many great contacts through sports! |
| Have you played basketball after high school? |
| I played at St. Francis Xavier University, and I also played with Simon on the New Waterford Strands which captured the Senior Maritime title in 1970, which arguably could have been the best basketball series to take place in Cape Breton. |
