Police seize Cocaine, charge four

Four people appeared in Sydney Provincial Court this week after Cape Breton Regional Police investigation into drug trafficking. Street Crime officers executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a 2nd Street residence in Glace Bay May 25th, seizing Cocaine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia. They arrested four people present in the residence; after further investigation, one was released without charges and the three others were remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.

 

Jodi Bernard Steele (43) is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Cocaine, Methylphenidate and Hydromorphone; Brian Augustine Deruelle (47) and Tiffany Anne Penney (38), who were both wanted on warrants for Failing to Attend Court, are each charged with four Breaches of Court-ordered conditions.

 

Street Crime officers also arrested and charged a 54-year-old from North Sydney after a vehicle stop on Plumber Avenue in New Waterford May 24th, where they seized Cocaine and cash from his possession and then executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a Seaview Drive property. John Joseph Keeping was remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
