The Portside Beer Gardens in downtown Sydney announced on their Facebook page that the Province of Nova Scotia does not permit them to continue with their "Dog Friendly Policy". They say they've been informed that legislation in Nova Scotia now prohibits "pets on decks". As a result, "fur friends" are no longer permitted in the dining area at the beer gardens. They say they are disappointed and are looking into other options.

"We are very disappointed as huge pet lovers ourselves, all our four legged customers were a bright point in our busy days!"
