The Cape Breton Highlanders professional basketball team aim for their second win in as many days when they host the Saint John Riptide on Saturday night at Centre 200.

This will be the fourth time this season these teams have played and the Highlanders lead the series 2-1. The Riptide won the first contest in Saint John 108 - 94 on November 23. The Highlanders picked up a victory in Saint John as well, winning 97 - 89 on December 9, and a 98 - 88 win on Boxing Day at Centre 200. This is the 12th regular season meeting all-time and the Highlanders have a 5-6 record overall.

The Riptide are 3rd in the Atlantic Division with a record of 7-6. The Riptide last played on January 5 in Saint John, defeating the Windsor Express 100 - 96.

The Highlanders are 5th in the Atlantic Division with a record of 6-10, winning 4 of their last 5 games. The Highlanders last played yesterday, January 12, earning a 117 - 115 victory over the PE Island Storm. This is the third of four games in a row at home for Cape Breton.

The Riptide are led by Gabe Freeman (#25), who scores an average of 23 points and finds 9 rebounds a game, the fourth best in the league in both categories. Malcolm Miller (#33) averages 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Horace Wormley (#4) scores 14 points with 6 rebounds and is their best passer, dishing out 7 assists a night.

Duke Mondy (#11), Bruce Massey (#1), and Tydran Beaty (#8) lead the way for the Highlanders. Massey leads the team in points, scoring an average of 22, and gets around 7 rebounds and 4 assists a game. Mondy scores an average of 21 points, grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists per game. Mondy also has the second-best shooting percentage from the 3-point line in the league. Beaty is averaging 15 points and collects 8 rebounds a game, the best on the team.
