The first NBL basketball game in Cape Breton was a close one as the Halifax Hurricanes pulled ahead of the Prince Edward Island Storm by 3 points in the final seconds to win the game. The game entertained a good-sized crowd of the estimated 1,500+ in attendance during the game and over 2,000 came through the gates throughout the day.
The NBL game capped an entire day of basketball where local teams competed in the big arena for the first time.
