Pro Basketball Game at C200 Entertains Local Fans - GAME VIDEO

The first NBL basketball game in Cape Breton was a close one as the Halifax Hurricanes pulled ahead of the Prince Edward Island Storm by 3 points in the final seconds to win the game.   The game entertained a good-sized crowd of the estimated 1,500+ in attendance during the game and over 2,000 came through the gates throughout the day.

The NBL game capped an entire day of basketball where local teams competed in the big arena for the first time.

Pictured above is the tip off.

Pictured below are the NBL players signing autographs for the fans - a common activity at most NBL games where players actively participate with fans and in the community.

Video of the entire game is included below.

I thought it was a great introduction of the NBL for Cape Breton. Good product on the floor with a great job organizing and promoting the entire day. Tough time of the year to get people in the seats and still a decent crowd on hand. I look forward to a team we can call our own with players to get to know. I am optimistic! Well done Tyrone Levingston et al.
