Manager says market owes money, but was taken by surprise while hoping to work out a repayment plan

The Cape Breton Farmers' Market has been locked out of its building in downtown Sydney, N.S., due to unpaid property taxes.

Manager Pauline Singer said the market has struggled financially since the COVID-19 pandemic, but the landlord does not seem willing to work out a payment plan for the tax arrears.

So according to the CB Post, the not for profit CB Farmer’s Market pays rent at $6300 per month not including their heat and lights ….as well as $24000 per year property taxes to the landlord. (that’s another $2,000 per month folks) Plus internet, garbage removal, insurance, pest control, and get this…. a CBRM downtown development levy!!!!! What is wrong with this picture??? 🤬🤬🤬
