Remains were discovered Monday in a rural area south of Sydney
CBC NewsCape Breton Regional Police are investigating after a person reported finding suspected human remains on Monday in a rural area about 20 kilometres south of Sydney.
According to a news release, police were called to the Morley Road area at around 5 p.m.
A forensic identification unit is at the scene and will be working with the medical examiner's office to identify the remains, the release said.
