Many schools in Nova Scotia are closed today as a snowfall makes its way across the region.

CBC meteorologist Ryan Snoddon said snow will begin this morning for western areas and then throughout the afternoon for central and eastern areas of the province.

A number of schools are closed or are closing early:

• Tri-County Regional Centre for Education: All schools are closed.
