Driver was taken to hospital for a medical assessment, police say

A 20-year-old woman from Waycobah First Nation in Cape Breton is facing a handful of charges, including impaired driving, after a stolen vehicle crashed into an RCMP detachment early Thursday morning.

Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay said no one was hurt, but the vehicle also hit a parked car outside the RCMP building and both vehicles are likely writeoffs.

He said Inverness County officers received a report of an impaired driver on Highway 105 heading toward Waycobah at high speed in a Chevrolet Equinox.
