AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Cape Breton — The Savoy Theatre is hosting auditions for ALL TALENT, aged 16 and over for their upcoming musical, Jeremy Webb’s Pantomime Extravaganza of CINDERELLA, a Musical Comedy for the Whole Family.

According to Pam Leader of the Savoy Theatre, talent is needed for all characters. "We're looking for a confident Cinderella, a prince and all their supporting cast, in this not-so-classic version of a classic tale," said Leader. "This show was an absolute hit at Neptune so we're excited and honoured to be able to cast it here and put it on our beautiful Savoy stage."

The Savoy Theatre is also very fortunate to have secured the talents of highly acclaimed Playwright and Director, Ron Jenkins to direct, with musical direction by well-known Band Leader and Producer, Stephen Muise. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO AUDITION

Interested persons should prepare ONE (1) song of your choice.

• The song does not have to be related to any specific musical.
• There will be a piano player to accompany if needed.
• Sheet music is welcome.

• Auditions will be held at the Savoy February 1, 2020 between 12 (noon) and 4 pm.
• You will receive a confirmation email with your audition time for the audition day. 

The Savoy Theatre will present CINDERELLA to audiences on April 2-5, 2020.

EXERPT FROM NEPTUNE THEATRE'S CINDERELLA PROGRAM

Cinderella tells the story of a young woman who longs for a better life, away from her menacing stepsisters. To help make her dreams come true, an amateur fairy godmother appears and grants her wish to attend the royal ball. Cinderella is then in a race against the clock to try and find her prince before the spell is broken at the stroke of midnight. The show is based in the British tradition of the pantomime, which takes a well known story such as a fairy tale, and infuses it with extravagant characters, dancing, singing, comedic moments and encourages the audience to get in on the fun. Last year, Cinderella charmed over 24,000 patrons at Neptune Theatre with its toe-tapping songs, belly-laughs and fun surprises. Written and directed by Neptune’s Artistic Director Jeremy Webb, this show leaves you with the magical feeling of love and joy.
