Wayne, I'm quite disappointed to see your unfair comment. By attacking the integrity of goCapeBreton.com you are also inherently attacking mine, as founder of the site, so I feel compelled to respond. For the record, goCapeBreton.com does not create news - instead, we enable the community to post and share its own news. goCapeBreton.com remains neutral and nonpartisan on issues. We are providing an important service to our community ... a service that we make available for FREE, but which costs us a LOT of time and money to deliver. How would you propose that we financially support such a service? Would you like to make a personal investment? But wait, would that not open you up to being attacked as influencing us in the same way that you are unfairly attacking us and our sponsor here? Regarding Seaside, perhaps you are unaware of a few facts. First, the company is owned and operated locally, and has been under new ownership and management for several years now. Second, the contributions that their team makes to Cape Breton are significant. Seaside employs local people, donates time and money to many local causes, and is also bringing high speed Internet to rural communities in Nova Scotia (a super-expensive and risky proposition for a small company). Lumping Seaside together with a larger conspiracy theory from the 1980s is simply unfair. Wayne, surely you would agree that our community has far more pressing issues to focus on than the cost of cable television. We could have taken the easy road and simply deleted your comment, but we live and work in the same community as you and think it is important that we lift each other up and not tear each other down. We are trying to do good things for our community and the support of sponsors like Seaside enable us to do that while maintaining our mission and integrity.
