Ahoy mateys – St. Peter’s is the place to be this September for the St. Peter's Pirate Days celebrations!  We hope you will join in on this annual event with the St. Peter’s community and businesses. There are four days of events scheduled for all ages.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2019

 

VOCA Pirate Poker Walk  Registration: 5:30 pm – 6 pm

Many village stores and homes are decorated on their pirate finest ready for this weekend! Grab a card for your efforts – and maybe some booty if you play your cards right.

Location: St. Peter's Lions Hall

Cost: $5/hand

Pirate Days Trivia Night: 8 pm

A night to bring your mates out for interrogation on various landlubber and pirate related matters.
Location: St. Peter’s Lions Club Hall
Cost: Team of 4/$40

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2019

Opening Ceremony: 6:00 pm

Pirates from near and far gather together and start the weekend to start of the weekend. Special Performances by the Halifax Circus and More! Ye don’t want to miss out.

Location: St. Peter’s Marina

Music on the Dock: 5 pm – 9 pm

St. Peter’s Pirates have invited Dwayne Cote and Jason MacDonald to keep those pirate feet stepping at the St. Peter’s Marina.

Location: Lions Club Marina/rain location in tent by Lions club

Cost: Free

Pre-Teen/Teen Trivia: 7:30pm

Calling all pre-teen/teen scallywags to come do some thinking n’ see who wins the booty

Location: St. Peter’s Lions Club Hall

Pirates Wing Night: 9 pm - MIDNIGHT

Join your fellow pirates sitting back and enjoying your favourite grog, and tasty wings. You'll be transported back to days of olde as the room is full of fellow pirates. Jeremy White will be preforming

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2019

Pickpocket Paradise: 9 am - 5 pm

Check out the Pirate Day Specials at the various shopkeepers around the village. You won't need to pilfer this weekend.

Coastal Trail Historic Walk: 9 am

Join the St. Peter’s Community Club for a stroll on the coastal trail along the Atlantic Ocean.  Learn how the Bay was so important to the Mi’kmaq people, pirates and explorers of old. You’ll also walk the beach looking for beach glass, unique drift wood and sea smoothed rocks for souvenirs.

Location: Start at the St. Peter’s Fire Hall, Toulouse Street

Cost: Free

Pillaging for the Food Bank    9 am – 12 pm

There will be mischief going on, nonetheless, Food 4 Children will be packing food rations for our local foodbank if you have shillings to share

Young Scallywag Activities     10 am – 2 PM

Children can enjoy activities under the watchful eye of their parents. 

Expect to find Pirates, Belly Dancers, Mermaids circus entertainers and giant inflatables ashore.

Pirate Grill: 11 am - 1 pm

Artisan Market: 11 am - 2 pm

Artisans and crafters journeyed from all around. Join us in finding unique

treasures ashore.

Pirate Pet Parade: 1 pm

Bring your pirate-costumed furry friend and brighten up a senior pirates' day. Prises available to be won

Sprog Sprint

 Cardboard Boat Race 2 pm – 4 pm

For those under 16 our expert boat builders will provide you and your team with materials and instructions to enter.

Bring your own lifejacket.

Scallywag Sea Skirmish

Cardboard Boat Race: 4 pm

Only the brave or foolish would take on such challenges to cheat Davy Jones’ Locker! Build your boat ahead of time.

Landlubbers Happy Hour: 3 pm – 5 pm

If you feel becalmed, then head over to the tavern and check out the entertainment by the talented David Stone. Location: MacBouch Restaurant

Cost: Donation to Musician

Rum Tasting: 5 pm – 7 pm

For those who love rum, Franklin Imports will be onsite at the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn providing an opportunity to taste premium imported Plantation Rums.

Pirate Patio Party: 6 pm - 9 pm

Head over for some grub; a wee dram of your favourite thirst quencher and layback to be entertained by Nightcrawlers. Keep a keen eye open though - the pirate fleet is heard to ply these waters and there will be a 'Lights on the Lake' Ships Parade. There may even be some pirates ashore!

Lights on the Lake Ships Parade

 At Dusk

The pirate fleet and their motley crews will weigh anchor from the Lion's Marina and sail out towards Corbett’s Cove seeking fame and fortune. Take a stroll at the Marina before they set sail to see how the boats and their crews have been transformed.
Location: Best viewed anywhere from the lake end of St. Peter's Historic Canal through to Corbett's Cove.

Cost: Free

Cash prizes of $250, $150, $100 in both sail and power categories.

Party Like a Pirate: 9 pm – 1 am

There's a wholelot of fun set out for a whole lot of landlubbers and pirates to enjoy this evening of live music and dancing at three venues! All are encouraged to dig deep into their clothes chest and put on their finest pirate garb to fete this night away. This year will have 3 locations and 4 bands!

Pirate Parade: 12:30 pm

Pirates will be gathering from Land and Sea. Please join in with costume, float or decorated land yacht or line the parade route as our motley crew!

Route: Starting at the Canal Landing site, up Toulouse street, left on to Grenville street, Right on to Pepperell. then Right on Lions Ave. Pass Richmond Villa to St. Peter’s Lions Hall

Closing Ceremony (following parade)

The judges have scouted the 

swaggy about town and are ready to name the top three homes, business, boat prizes (sail & power) and Pirate Off Road Nation Best Parade Entry.

Also enjoy performances by the Island Steppers, followed by local artist Juanita MacPhee as they complete our festival weekend.
