Standup @ The Upstairs Club

Billed as an evening of Amateur Comedy @ the Upstairs, it was anything but amateur and proved that comedy is alive and well in Cape Breton. What an eclectic mix of characters and comedy.

The evening would not have been possible without the efforts of Joel Inglis, and a special thank-you goes out to Joel for organizing this event, emceeing the evening, and daring to be the opening act.

I somehow managed to tape the first three acts and the event organizers, along with the artists, have agreed to share!  I will provide links to the other acts if they become available. Please note that the evening was a 19 years and over event, so keep that in mind if you venture into one of the links.

7:30 – Joel Inglis

7:45 – Dr. StrangeJob

8:00 – Daniel Dobson

8:15 – James F.W. Thompson

8:30 – Ian Brody

8:45 – Rob Calabrese

9:00 – Lauchlan MacKinnon

9:15 – Eric Lortie

Thanks Joel – let’s do it again sometime.

Really great to see you all doing this! Despite being first timers, it looks like everyone has a lot of potential! @Dr. Strangejob: The bit about your dad calling you Dr. Strangejob and you finding it strange was great. ;)

3/4 of mine was saved and posted to my Facebook. I'll see about combining them and posting them here when time permits. Would love to see a video of Robs. Everyone was solid, but he and Joel were just fantastic. I've seem professional comics who didn't make me laugh as much as them.

If you send me the link, then I will add it to this post. BTW - Thanks (not) for ruining one of my life ambitions of parachute jumping.
