Composed by Newfoundland's Dean Burry, the show was created and written by Port Morien's Lorna MacDonald. Musical Direction and choral arrangements by Glace Bay's Stuart Adams and Lydia Adiams, and the show is directed by Toronto's Mimi Mekler. MacDonald, Calvert and Adams are Cape Bretoners who have gone on to make international careers in the field of music. The music-drama opens with the young and precocious nine year-old Mabel Hubbard who eventually meets the remarkable teacher to the deaf and accomplished pianist, Alexander Graham Bell. When they arrive in Baddeck, Cape Breton, married, with their two daughters, a world of Celtic culture awaits them. It's "all up" until tragedy hits. Be transported back in time with "The Bells of Baddeck". It's a time you won't forget.
The show opens at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in beautiful Baddeck, Nova Scotia on July 3rd and closes August 2, 2015. All shows at 7:30PM. Tickets and show dates at www.bellsofbaddeck.com.
