Episode 16 of a Cape Breton Podcast with Joe Ward, Boxer Shorts Media.
Improved parking or building a parking structure in downtown Sydney is a very common request from the public, but not everyone agrees. Local leadership do not include it as a priority and many people seem to suggest that difficult-to-find parking spaces are sufficient—or that the CBRM will have a major change in mindset regarding public transit or active transportation that will make it unnecessary. With the NSCC coming to the downtown, will Sydney develop a better parking strategy, or will they let the Mayflower Mall and upcoming Seventh Exchange further dominate local retail spending? Or is downtown Sydney truly only suited to food and entertainment, with a small amount of interspersed retail offerings?
