Cape Breton - The Savoy Theatre is 95 years young and this summer management and staff are celebrating with with the addition of some great shows! For nearly a century, the Savoy Theatre has been providing high-quality entertainment, contributing to our communities and employing thousands of individuals and companies in Cape Breton and beyond. This year will be no different with the launch of a brand new dinner theatre, a new main stage summer show and some epic blasts from the past. There’ll be something for every taste.

Glace Bay Pizza Wars - Dinner Theatre

The Savoy’s popular dinner theatres are the perfect place to share some laughs with coworkers, friends and family. This year, our fun-loving cast members are embroiled in a legendary pizza war as two rival Glace Bay pizza shops go head-to-head in a cheesy battle to dominate the Cape Breton pizza market. Don’t worry, there’s no pizza on the menu. Instead, enjoy roasted red pepper & tomato soup, followed by your choice of crispy baked haddock with house made tartar or sage stuffed chicken breast with pan gravy. There’s also a vegan/veg option of quinoa stuffed bell peppers with summer greens and house dressing. For dessert, enjoy strawberry shortcake with sweetened whip cream. Don’t miss out! Dancing Queen: Tribute to ABBA

Far from being ‘just another cover band’, Dancing Queen: A Tribute To ABBA is a full-scale theatrical production featuring 2.5 hours of live musical performances featuring a live backing band, replica costumes, theatrical lighting and effects and all the dancing an ABBA fan can handle. Dear Rita: Encore Performance

By popular demand, we are thrilled to once again present Dear Rita which debuted in May 2022. Patrons could not say enough about this epic performance featuring the music of Cape Breton’s songbird Rita MacNeil and a unique re-telling of Rita’s life journey. Cape Breton playwright Lindsay Kyte was chosen by Rita’s son to develop this show, featuring a cast of six performers and band, DEAR RITA weaves Rita’s lyrics into new perspectives and invites her spirit into the room as her songs live through our own experiences. Who is “Rita” in this show? It’s not one person. We all are — everyone on that stage, and everyone whose hearts she has touched with the musical prayers of her people.
