For the first time, Nova Scotia's annual Christmas Tree gift of thanks to Boston for help after the 1917 Halifax Explosion is coming from Cape Breton!

I appealed it ("Limited/Licensed Parking" sign was hidden by a well leafed tree) and I also proudly mentioned that I was from NS "the place that sends you a Christmas Tree annually". They waived the ticket.

He was lucky but did not survive unscathed- there were some missing fingers and other things that were damaged. I, too, watch for this event to happen every year. Very happy to see the tree coming from CB b/c there were more than a few CB'ners (like my grandfather) who were involved in that explosion and have family ties with Boston.
