TOXIC POND Affects Everyone [VIDEO]

We, the members of Little Harbour Toxic Pond (Lower L'Ardoise) group, do not begrudge the Cape Breton Miners Museum for getting the Federal and Provincial monies to upgrade their museum, but the members of the Little Harbour Toxic Pond group have been trying to get funding from Mike Kelloway for a Federally-owned pond that is full of stinking rotting matter that has killed off all fish habitats and bird nesting areas.

There was a study funded and a plan was put in place by engineers but because of lack of funding this plan did not go forward. This has been an ongoing concern of our group for the past 4 years and Mike Kelloway and others from the Federal Government have seen to give other groups enormous amounts of funding and if they had of paid when the plan was completed it would have cost $100,000.00. We know there are lots of needed and deserving groups in Cape Breton including the group trying to get Cape Bretons' share of the Equalization Payment but the stench in Little Harbour (Lower L'Ardoise) needs attention NOW.

Come on Mike; follow through on your publicly voiced commitment to find funding for our Toxic Pond.
