Cape Breton Regional Police advise Sydney motorists of a change to posted traffic signage where Whitney Avenue intersects with Ashby Road.  

To clarify the right of way for a safer intersection, a new STOP sign will be installed for traffic traveling Southwest on Whitney Avenue. All other existing Stop signs will also remain in place. (See photo above for reference).

CBRM Public Works crews will install the new signage and motorists can expect some traffic delays in this area while work is being completed.

Please pay extra attention driving in this area where motorists traveling in ALL directions will now be required to make a full stop when approaching this intersection.
