If I remember correctly my father told me that the fall of Broughton was because the Dominion Steel and Coal Co opened the railroads and they wouldn’t let Broughton Coal cross over the Dominion owned tracks with their coal. This kept Broughton from getting their coal to market which brought an end to both the Broughton Coal Company and the town!!!
