I'm so very impressed with how significantly campaign communication has improved since 2016. There are two other candidates in District 3 I like. They are both strong, and both have differentiated skillsets. And, yet Glen's communication dominance with his campaign (a) keeps me focused on his ideas, and (b) increasingly makes me believe he is the right candidate. Now, I'm not a District 3 voter, but I follow the campaigns and enjoy observing the process. And I can see Glen's potential to get an edge over close rivals with his communication abilities! Props! There are also proactive video approaches hosted by Jeff MacNeil, Wayne O'Toole, and Ripple FX. Glen Murrant now has a leadership position with self-managed use of video for his campaign. I (in District 6) and Christina Joe (candidate for District 5) will also be using video, each in our distinct styles. Amanda McDougall will be using video, and I know of at least one other who is actively working on campaign video right now. We might finally get to the stage where all candidates are judged based on presenting themselves and getting elected based on whomever actually makes the best offer. If candidates like Glen and others keep raising the bar, that's the direction we're headed in! And that's where we should be. Outstanding, Glen. P.S. Very nice studio set-up and equipment!

Thanks Joe - I appreciate the feedback! Ideas are of little use if they can't be communicated. The time around, we need to elect thinkers and communicators - not door-knockers and hand-shakers. Otherwise, nothing will change.

Note: Esmond Marshall seems to be a very kind man, and I can see why he is so well-liked. Unfortunately, he is a very passive councillor and contributes very little to the council debate. I hope that the residents of Eskasoni will be open to the idea of considering a vote for a candidate who is better prepared to fulfil the obligations of the role. With that said, I don't believe that Blue has yet filed his nomination paperwork, so perhaps he has decided not to re-offer this year. John Whalley entering the race might have been an indication of knowledge that Marshall was not running again. If he is, however, it'll be a difficult campaign due to vote splitting. But never say never. Glen is clearly showing that there are vastly better ways to communicate and campaign than we've used in the past here in the CBRM—and he's putting them to great use!

I've never had the opportunity to speak in person with Councillor Marshall. From conversations with others, however, I know that he is very well liked, respected, and a devoted family man.

Well done Glen, very polished indeed. A deep bench in every district is the best outsome for all CBRM voters. The CBRM budget challenges will not abate in the midst of C-19. Contested districts make sure we bring our best to the challenges ahead. Regards, Caleb Gibbons
