Some people think that trust isn't the biggest issue in this election. But... if you can't believe Houston or his MLAs... why would you believe the plans they offer to solve our biggest issues like healthcare or housing or affordability? They just announced $810 million for Halifax roads, and $40-50 million more every year to pay Halifax Bridge tolls. They haven't offered anything for the CBRM, but reduced our CBRM equalization grant instead. I ran for mayor to reduce our property taxes, and I'm running for MLA to do the same. I got that commitment added into the platform for the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia. Why? Because I speak up for our community. I have no desire to blend into the background or put a muzzle on and rubber stamp everything a leader of the party says. I can't say the same for MLAs like Brian Comer and John White who are not fighting for us. Comer told the CBC he has a good relationship with Councillor Gillespie.
