What does auto detailing mean?

It is our plan to write articles on the various processes of auto detailing to help consumers understand the difference when they read promotional words like bronze, silver, gold, and certainly platinum level of auto detailing services. Auto detailing can be more than a wash n’ wax.

Wikipedia defines Auto Detailing as the act of performing a thorough cleaning, restoration, and finishing of a motor vehicle, to produce a show-quality cleanliness and polish. Detailing can be performed on a vehicle's exterior and/or interior. The benefit of using a professional auto detailer is the preservation of the paint surface and interior, resulting in above-average resale value of the vehicle, appearance, and enjoyment of driving.

One of greatest challenges with having your vehicle detailed is giving it up for a day or two. Extensive detailing requires curing time or a sleepover, as in the case of an extensive interior cleanse in winter. In winter, heaters should be used to completely dry out the vehicle's interior carpets, door panels, headliner, and upholstery, otherwise you will be scraping the inside of your windshield for the rest of the season.
