Text, photos, graphics, video, audio, music, and other types of content are owned by the person or organization that created them (the Copyright Owner). Some Copyright Owners make it easy for you to share their works. For example, YouTube allows you to embed videos on other websites and they provide directions and code to do so. Many other websites do the same. Some Copyright Owners even open source their works to allow anyone to freely use them in any way.
But, just because something is on the Internet does not mean it is free to use by the public.
A Copyright Owner may choose to limit use and distribution of his/her works, or make the work freely available to copy and use in any way desired. You cannot assume that you have the right to duplicate works created by other people. Purchasing a resource from someone else (like an ebook) does not necessarily make you the Copyright Owner, nor does it allow you to copy that resource to another website.
You must be careful when copying or uploading content to this website.
Content that is deemed to infringe on a Copyright Owner's rights will be promptly removed.
Here is what is USUALLY ok to include on this website
- Links to other websites, webpages, videos, photos, graphics, documents, etc. If the content resides on another website, then LINKING to it is generally ok.
- Text that you wrote, photos that you own, and other such content that you created.
- Embedding videos from YouTube and similar websites. Embedding a video is ok, linking to a video is ok, but uploading a video is not ok.
- Embedding photos and graphics that reside on other websites, if those websites provide permission to do so. Embedding is ok, linking is ok, but uploading is not ok.
- Short captions of text from another website. For example, it is usually acceptable to copy a few words or sentences of text from a news article, but you should not copy the entire contents of that article. It's better to just link to it.
