Safe Spaces Network is offering a FREE screening of Wisdom of Trauma featuring Dr Gabor Maté on Friday March 24, 6pm at Gallery 211, Eltuek Arts Centre. This will be followed by a community discussion and reflection about the film.

About Wisdom of Trauma:
Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds. Dr. Maté gives us a new vision: a trauma-informed society in which parents, teachers, physicians, policymakers and legal personnel are not concerned with fixing behaviours, making diagnoses, suppressing symptoms and judging, but seek instead to understand the sources from which troubling behaviours and diseases spring in the wounded human soul.
This screening event is recommended for community members aged 16+ and contains visuals and language that some audience's members may find distressing. The event is free, with limited spaces.

Safe Spaces Network is a project of Northside Rising, which aims to create a more trauma-informed Cape Breton Regional Municipality -- communities that are safe, welcoming, and inclusive - through knowledge sharing and community events.
