Indulge in a festive feast fit for royalty at the Fortress of Louisbourg’s Grandchamp Restaurant, as we kick off our Christmas Holiday Storehouse Music Series.
Friday, November 17th

Show at 7:30pm

1. Begin with a delightful Cranberry Walnut Salad, dressed in a flavorful balsamic vinaigrette, perfectly balancing sweet and savory notes.
2. For the main course, savor the heartwarming essence of the holidays with Stuffed Turkey, accompanied by roasted mini potatoes, carrots, and green beans. A symphony of flavors awaits your taste buds.
3. Conclude your culinary journey on a sweet note with our Heritage Chocolate Cake, adorned with fresh strawberries and billowy whipped cream, a delightful treat that captures the essence of tradition.
To top it all off, enjoy a steaming cup of tea or coffee, warming your spirits as you relish your dessert.
Following this delectable meal, our guests are invited to the Storehouse Tavern, where the magic of the evening truly comes alive with live music performed by the Doris Mason Jazz Quartet.

Steve Gaetz on drums
James Logan on guitar
Larry Bjornson on bass

Doris will be playing original material from her recordings, classic jazz gems and

some new compositions that will be presented in Sydney first, as cameos. She’ll be

paying her tribute to Rudy Pace-with “Rudy’s Den”, providing piano and vocal scat solos  

 

Joining her on drums is St.F.X.Jazz Program graduate and C.B.Summertime Revue alumni!

Steve Gaetz, who has returned from T.O. to live back home.

Steve studied and performed with the ‘Big Band of the University of Miami’.

 

James Logan on guitar, also studied at ST.F.X. and has played with Doris over the last

2 decades in DRUM!, Nova Scotia’s Multi-Cultural Music Spectacle.

He is a sound engineer and has his own studio. J H L Productions.

 

Larry Bjornson will be manning the double bass. He is mega-talented and has studied music

at McGill in Montreal and Wayne State University in Detroit. Performed with “The Moody Blues”,

backed up personalities like Joan Rivers, Regis Philbin and is now stationed in Hfx with “The

Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy”, as well as playing weekly jazz shows downtown.
