No, our two strong independent candidates did not win this by-election run, so what are we talking about?
This By-Election was a gift of opportunity for our communities, our island and the independent candidate movement. We had the opportunity (all be it within a limited time-frame to prepare) to get the message out there. Just look at those numbers, not the typical red and blue numbers, but those of Elect Russ Green and Andrew Doyle-Independent for Northside/Westmount. These were achieved in just two weeks of work with little to no budget.
These two candidates and the CBUA are only beginning. We are all excited and look forward to educating and reaching so many more voters, and the challenging task, the non-voter. We must change the mindset and ignite thoughts and actions of change. Our Island requires it, and most people demand it.
