The Fortress of Louisbourg will be exploring the inexplicable once again on September 9th and 10th! Participate in the many wickedly fun activities such as themed trivia, music, food and beverages (for purchase until 8pm) a dark history tour, and of course; the paranormal investigations brought to you by Haunts from the Cape.

The stories of the present and past claim that the restless spirits roam and wander through the buildings of the Fortress. Some say the Fortress is haunted; and they search for proof in the dark, while others prefer to leave it a mystery. Guided by candle light, hear the voices from the past as they tell you their stories, if you're brave enough to listen.

On September 10th the investigation will include an overnight portion for guest (available until tickets are sold out) which will let you camp in the King's Bastion with the spirits of Louisbourg residents.

Schedule for both evenings:
5:30pm; Arrival to site
Between 5:30 and 8:00 canteen food and beverage services will be available with music and trivia.
Arrive on site and make your way down to the tavern. Let’s get the festivities started with some snacks, a drink or two, and some music! Put your knowledge of all things creepy, supernatural, weird, and wondrous to the test with some trivia! Who knows, maybe you’ll even win a prize!
7:45pm; Dark History tour of site
Curious about Louisbourg’s dark history, and paranormal activities that happen behind closed doors? Join us on a short tour around site to hear the stories of murder, mayhem, and madness
9:00pm; Haunts from the Cape will divide up attendees to go on a paranormal investigation of the site.
Put on your ghost hunting hats and tag along with the team from Haunts from the Cape to uncover the mysteries that the Fortress is home to once the sun sets.

What are the covid-19 safety precautions being taken?
To protect all visitors and staff all federal and Nova Scotia Health Authority safety guidelines will be followed
Is this an all-ages event?
This is a 19+ event, and attendees must be able to provide proof of their age.
How do I get to the event?
When driving to the Fortress of Louisbourg, proceed to Gate 2 where you will be met by a staff member who will admit you into the site. Follow the back road along the Atlantic coastline to the stop sign. Once you are at the stop sign you be directed to the appropriate spot to park your car for the evening.
I never been to Louisbourg before/I have never attended an evening event at the Fortress; what should I bring in terms of clothing?
Site is gravelled/grassy in some areas; please bring suitable footwear. Our site is located on the Atlantic, please being suitable clothing and expect sudden changes in weather/temperature. Temperatures are cooler during the night.
Don't forget bug spray and a flashlight!

Do I need to bring my own tent and sleeping bag?
Tents and sleeping mats are supplied, however if your are more comfortable bringing your own you are welcome to! Please bring all other personal camping necessities
Will there be bathrooms available?
Toilets will be available throughout your visit, with a closure for cleaning Sunday morning for a short period. There are no showers available.
Will there be staff onsite overnight?
Staff will be on site overnight in case of emergency
When is check out?
Vehicles must be moved from Parade Square parking by 9am.

Please clean up all garbage, do not leave belongings behind in tents or throughout site.
