This is your chance to have your say about the ATV issues in CBRM. The survey is anonymous, very quick & easy and here are some example answers for you to consider.

Keep in mind that Cape Breton Regional Police Services are doing the best they can but CBRM Council is working against them in the case of illegal ATV use. CBRMPS' recommendation to not have ATVs on residential trails was ignored (READ ABOUT IT HERE) and now CBRMPS have to clean up the mess. It's not right! But CBRPS still have a job to do and council is not their boss...the law is and they must enforce it! This survey is a way to tell the province and Police Services that we want ATVs off of our residential trails and off of our roads.

Illegal OHV (ATVs, dirt bikes, etc.) activity is up over 10 times since CBRM created a RAT (Residential ATV Trail) in our beautiful community. CBMRPS need to take a zero tolerance policy like other communities did.

CBRM Police Service need guidance from DNR officers. DNR Officers know the OHV act inside out and have no problem enforcing it.

CBRM Council created this problem but the CBRM Police Services need to deal with it until Council fixes the mess it created.

The Department of Natural Resources Officer don't mess around and will give out fines and impound ATVs.

Remember to call 902-563-5151every time you see an ATV on a street or sidewalk in CBRM. It is illegal for them to be on 99.9% of the roads in CBRM or Tim Hortons or Walmart or the post office or the bank or the NSLC etc.

The dispatcher should never argue with you and CBRMPS need to respond as best they can.
