12 +1 Steps of Incompetents Anonymous (IA)

Incompetents Anonymous (IA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from incompetence. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop being incompetent.

The IA movement borrows heavily from the traditional 12 step recovery process, while taking into account the unique issues surrounding the recovery needs of incompetents. Challenges inherent in dealing with incompetents, as compared to addicts, necessitated the inclusion of at least one additional step in the process. This makes IA the first 12 +1 Step recovery program in existence.

Dr. StrangeJob is credited with the development of the 12 +1 Step IA movement. His visionary approach foresaw the need to expand the support function beyond the ills of the mere incompetent. Refer to the initial IA press release for additional detail on membership requirements and program specifications.

Dr. StrangeJob is pleased to announce the formation of the Cape Breton Chapter of Incompetents Anonymous. Please review the program’s 12 +1 Steps of IA prior to attending the first meeting. Meeting date and place TBA.

Audacity Prayer
Grant me the authority to eliminate those that will not follow,
The ability to terrorize those that remain,
And the audacity not to care about the difference.

We were always told as children that it was important to differentiate between a "need" and a "want". You say that you "wanna join" IA, but perhaps, in this case, it is more of a "need" to join.
