A researcher studying the rise of extremism in Atlantic Canada warns Ku Klux Klan Halloween costumes are just one example of an insidious effort by far-right groups to normalize hateful attitudes.

Last month, four people donned white robes and pointed hoods at a Halloween party in North Sydney, N.S., prompting outrage and condemnation on social media, and an apology from the local firefighter's club that hosted the event.

Very sad and unfortunate indeed. What is even scarier, is that there are people on Reddit and Facebook defending these guys. I can imagine that this is a sign of why the extreme right-wing Nazis in Germany were targeting Nova Scotia to set up shop for a big Cult-like camp. This was featured in an article of the German magazine Stern a couple of years ago. I saw a quote recently by the right-wing radio personality Glenn Beck, where in essence he wrote that racism can only be conquered with racism. Now that is very scary.
