27-year-old man dead after ATV crash in Cape Breton...
The community didn't want an ATV trail, Police Services recommended against it and a tax payer funded Engineering firm recommended against it (READ ABOUT ALL 3 HERE). But the current Mayor (Self declared ATV Enthusiast - see video below) decided that it would be a wonderful thing ("This trail is amazing, amazing for that" - video below) to allow off-roads vehicles to destroy our beautiful community so that her and her family ("I am so fortunate to live so very very handy to the trail" - video below) could drive their ATVs through our backyards. It's great that her and her family gets what they want but since her official public statement from the Mayor's office (see video below) we now see CBRM residents like the article above, dying regularly. Like every year now. CBRM Mayor and council have a legal "Duty Of Care" responsibility. They were explicitly warned that death would increase in CBRM if they turned our Active Transportation Trail into a RAT (Residential ATV Trail), and it has. We also see a 10 times increase of illegal ATV activity in our community. People are dying and IMHO all data points to CBRM policy as the root cause. {text deleted}
Official statement from the current mayor of CBRM, in the Mayor's office, promoting the increased use of ATVs in residential areas. This is fact and public.
I have to make this statement so it is clear that I am not seen as harassing our elected officials or any groups of people: The following is political commentary related to community damaging and people harming policies that need to be reversed for the betterment of "all CBRM". This article is about recent unsanctioned decisions and actions in CBRM that are causing real community issues and can most likely be correlated to deaths and injuries, that's all.
